Give to Plexus

Building cultural competencies is a hallmark for any forward-thinking organization or company—and ensuring LGBTQ is part of the conversation is critical. This is where the Plexus Education Foundation excels. Through our Education Foundation we roll up our sleeves and work alongside companies and organizations striving to create and sustain affirming workplaces for LGBTQ employees.

Your gift to the Plexus Education Foundation goes above and beyond membership. It helps to grow and transform our NEO into welcoming communities for all.

A Note from
Amanda Cole, Executive Director

I joined Plexus as the first Executive Director in May of 2019. While I am the first to officially hold this title, I am inheriting the work, drive and creative powers of a dedicated Board of Directors and leadership. Together we have plans to deepen our impact, expand the Plexus network, and grow in capacity. As we look to 2020, we are incubating and implementing new ways to grow our membership base and create unique opportunities and events for networking, community building and learning.

In describing a Plexus event, people often describe them as warm, inviting and a place where people are comfortable to be themselves. I invite you to join Plexus and engage with us to help create thriving workplaces, build a strong network and drive business development for the LGBTQ and Allied community in the region. See you soon!

Equality Act

LGBTQ Americans lack basic legal protections in states across the country. The patchwork nature of current laws leaves millions of people subject to uncertainty and potential discrimination that impacts safety, families and day-to-day lives.

The Equality Act would provide consistent and explicit non-discrimination protections for LGBTQ people across key areas of life. Learn more and get involved!

Soiree 2019 An Evening to Remember

On June 7th, more than 150 members and friends came out to support Plexus and celebrate Pride during our Summer Soiree hosted by EY on the rooftop deck. Because of your generosity we raised over $5,000 to support our education and training programs.

Relive the evening by checking out the summer fancy and fashion on our FB photo album.

LGBTQ Equality Is Good for Business

Ohio Business Competes

Plexus stands proudly with over 550 businesses and organizations statewide that have signed on to Ohio Business Competes (OBC) telling lawmakers that LGBTQ equality is good for the state's brand and economy. OBC, a nonpartisan coalition, is committed to achieving nondiscrimination policies for LGBTQ Ohioans. Join the growing number of Plexus members working to make Ohio more competitive.

Plexus and other LGBTQ advocates testified at Cuyahoga County Council meeting.

Cuyahoga County Expands Protections

While it is still legal in Ohio to fire someone, or deny them housing or access to public accommodations based on their sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, Cuyahoga County voted to expand nondiscrimination protections. Plexus leaders and members provided testimony in support of the ordinance in hearings leading up to the vote. The passage underscores the need for our county to be a leader in helping our region thrive.
